When Jealousy tries to have the last say so
I would reminisce about the times when I thought I was not a person who dealt with jealousy, or so I assumed. While in this battle of defeating jealousy, I realize it was not as loud as in the darkness, and what makes the difference is that it has now been exposed, why? Because the light is now in my life and He exposes everything that is not of Him. This light is Jesus Christ. By his grace he also has done a work simultaneously to make sure that I have a permanent work being done in my life to remain free and to share what I have learned so that others can get set free as well.
The Lord has shown me so much. Jealousy is a surface-level sin that comes with root issues that show we need the healing available in Christ Jesus. It stems from insecurity. Jealousy grows from what we feel like we lack.
Here are some things to know in defeating Jealousy and accepting the truth of God concerning you not lacking:
To not be jealous, you must accept the truth of God concerning your existence.
You will find that the more you meditate on the word of God and truly accept that His word is the truth, the less likely you will walk in insecurities that come from the lies of the devil that God withheld something good concerning your existence. You will stop thinking that you need to find or envy a way that will “fill up the void to make you feel secure”. The book of Proverbs tells us that “in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” The word counselors here translates to advise, consult, give counsel, purpose, devise, plan. Reading God’s word will help you receive the counsel of the Lord needed to know who you are, who God is, and how you are supposed to live with your identity rooted in Him. As long as you are constantly looking at something else instead of the Lord Jesus to validate your existence, then you will be easily shakeable by the things in this life set to attack your identity.
Cast that thing down immediately.
Whether you are out in public, in the middle of a conversation, whether you have to whisper it, make sure every thought of envy and jealousy is completely cast down. Do not give it room to rest, let alone walk in. Sometimes coming into agreement with stuff happens when you simply don’t rebuke it or cast it down. 2 Corinthians 10:5. It does’nt matter if your feelings is telling you not to worry about it, disregard it, or it’s not your thought; we have to remember we wrestle not against flesh and blood, the enemy is trying to find every way he can to snare your heart so you do not become all that God called you to be.
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV
“ Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
Declare scriptures over yourself daily.
This will help you understand your position as a believer in the earth realm. To set your gaze upon God helps you to know to the fullest extent, that it is Him alone who deserves the worship and not you. Jealousy can bring us into a narcissistic space where we are always constantly thinking about ourselves. Thinking about how we look in other people's eyes, how we can be like the person we are envious of, how we should act in front of others we want to be applauded by. It leaves no room for God or others, your mind is constantly set on you, whether it’s “good” or bad. This is a stronghold that needs to be broken off through consistent praying, fasting, and deliverance. Do not stop until the Holy Spirit lets you know that you have been set completely free.
When you declare scriptures over yourself daily, your focus will be shifted to God and his will, you will find that you are more content in this space because you are functioning according to how you are designed, to worship the master, Jesus. When we operate in a way we are designed to, we tend to compare ourselves less because we are present in our own lives, doing our own God-given business. When we declare scriptures over ourselves, it aligns things with God and His kingdom.
1 Thessalonians 4:11 KJV
And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
Galatians 4:6 KJV
But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
You must understand that you are not lacking anything nor are you inferior to anyone, and neither are you superior to another. No matter where you are at in life currently or where another person may be in life, you are not validated by it. It is a lie that the enemy tells so that we can get distracted out of our spot and don’t produce the fruit we are supposed to because we are too busy focusing on what others have going on in their lives and because of that we feel feel like what we have or do is not good enough. This is why you must understand who your creator is so you can know that you were made to do great things, even greater things than Jesus, all for the glory of God. This is why it is important to have moments in life where you cut out the noise of social media (sometimes all things media) to focus on you and what you are producing. You will find that you are less anxious, more confident, and have more willpower to show in excellence. The original you shines and you can go forth knowing for sure who you are in your assignment here on earth.
John 14:12 KJV
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
Let’s look into Genesis 1:26-31 KJV
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
What does this tell us?
We are made in the image of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is not a light thing, this means that we were made to resemble God in body, soul, and spirit. God made us this way on purpose.
We were made intentionally by God, there is not a part of us that He made by accident.
When God created us, He put in us the power and ability to have dominion over the things of the sea, land, and air. Meaning that we can work, pray, and cultivate things according to God’s will for us. We are called to have dominion over the things of the earth, excluding people (controlling people is manipulation and witchcraft).
God has created us to be fruitful, that is literally in our human and genetic makeup.
We are blessed by God.
God has given us every fruitful thing in the earth.
God has given us the power to be fruitful, replenish the earth, subdue the earth, and have dominion. This is the privilege that every human has been given by Father God.
Another important thing, especially for believers, is to know that God alone is supposed to get the glory out of everything we do, especially kingdom work. It is only by the Spirit of God that souls are won, that the kingdom of God prospers here on earth through us, and by His spirit we can accomplish anything great. Apart from Jesus Christ, we can do nothing.
John 15: 5 and 6 KJV
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”
We are not to view our brothers and sisters as people we are competing with but instead co-laborers for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, working to advance the kingdom of God here on earth. We are not to do things that will purposely make us stand out compared to other believers, because we want to be appalled or commended, but instead, Jesus Christ be glorified. When we see that we are meant to work with God, we will humble ourselves, realizing it was never about us in the first place and the great reward is being able to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. God Himself is our great reward.
Scriptures supporting this:
Genesis 15:1 KJV
“After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”
1 Corinthians 3:5-17 KJV
“Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”
What does this tell us?
We are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in us.
We have the privilege to plant or water but only God blesses it with increase. The glory is not ours but His.
We are blessed to work with God when planting or watering.
The fire of God will prove the purity of our work once tested. This is a good thing for those who have been building well on the foundation of Jesus Christ.
We receive our due reward as laborers for God’s kingdom.
We are God’s field and building
We are holy temples of God.
Thank you Jesus for the word, truth, and promises of God! Wow! What a privilege we have being Christians, look at what our identity includes!
My prayer is that we as women no longer walk in jealousy and understand that God created us to be good when he made us. We do not need to be envious toward our neighbor for what God has blessed them with, because he has blessed us with.
Also, If you would like to accept the love of God and His son, Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, or even if you have backslidden and want to return to the Lord, Here’s a prayer to guide you.
“ God almighty, I come before you to accept your love, to no longer reject you and what you have done for me. I choose to stop running from you and to finally stop rejecting myself of your love. Thank you for dying for me Lord Jesus, thank you for taking on my sins and shame. Thank you Lord that you became a curse for me so that I would no longer be bound by them but set free by your blood that was shed for me. Thank You for making yourself available to me, as friend, father, Lord, God, helper, comforter, savior, and all the good things I need in my life. Jesus I love you and ask you to help me keep loving you like how you want me to. I accept you completely as my Lord and savior, not what this world and demons have presented to me. Now I declare in the both spiritual and physical realm, that I not longer belong to Satan nor his Kingdom but according to Colossians 1:13, God has delivered me from the kingdom of darkness and has placed me in the Kingdom of light, where Jesus Christ is, I declare I belong to Jesus Christ and I now seat with Him In heavenly places. I rebuke all demonic retaliation in me making this decision and come into agreement with a sound mind in Jesus name. I repent, renounce, denounce, and divorce myself from all the sins I’ve committed (list what you can remember) and break the evil covenants associated with them, and I declare once again I am a part of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. In Jesus name I pray and seal this prayer in His blood, Amen.”
Hallelujah! Congratulations if you made this decision. I pray that you prevail in your walk in the Lord, that forces of darkness continue to fail concerning you, and that the forces of light continue to persevere and propel you in the name of Jesus.
And if you have not yet, get you a Bible. Please, it’s a lot of ghetto foolishness concerning Christianity and religion. The Bible is the only way to protect you from it and will show you how to be a Christian and have a real relationship with Jesus Christ.
