Eternal Life: From heaven, then on earth, and then forever in Heaven

1 John 5:11 “ And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”

God is super merciful, truly He is the God of all mercies. How do I know? This too, like many other blogs, is a blog post that I was supposed to write and publish long ago, however, God brought it back to me and so here it is. Thank you Jesus!

A few years ago, during my time of meditating on scripture, the Lord revealed to me that eternal life is not something that begins once believers in the Lord Jesus Christ die and go to heaven. Heaven is heaven. Heaven existed before humans did. Heaven existed before there was a sin and hell issue concerning humanity. Heaven existed before Satan transgressed against the Lord and was cast out. Eternal life is the Lord Jesus Christ. Before we accept Jesus as both Lord and Savior, we have the condemnation of eternal damnation on us, that is what we are marked within the life of sin. For us to no longer be subject to punishment to eternal hellfire, we must receive what will give eternal life instead of eternal death. The well-known scripture John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” We must believe that Jesus is the Christ and the Son of God to receive eternal life. Eternal life begins once we receive the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

One of the reasons why it is so important that we understand what eternal life is because it will affect how we choose to live our lives here on earth. There is nothing average about a believer's life once salvation is in effect. The lands of nations are now aware of our voices in a place of prayer, life goes before us and manifests itself in the places we command it to go by the authority we have in Jesus Christ. Resurrection power follows us, it is the same power that rose Jesus from the grave and caused Him to rule eternally. This same resurrection power is what preserves us and is in us as disciples of Jesus. It is by this power we can have dominion over governments, realms, kingdoms, school systems, healthcare systems, souls, and spirits to obey Jesus Christ and fall in alignment with the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember in Genesis 1:28, God gave us both a blessing and instruction, “God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth'’. I want to clarify something, when I say we can have dominion over souls, it’s not to manipulate people but more so to set their souls into freedom by calling them forth to the Father, this can be through sharing the Love, death, and life of Christ through evangelizing, this can be interceding for loss souls to come to the Lord in prayer, this can be us asking the Lord to do a work in someone’s heart, or this can be ministering the love of Jesus Christ by living like Him before all people so that they can experience the power of God and accept the gift of salvation. So when Genesis 1:28 happened, do not see it as what humanity had before Adam and Eve sinned but instead what we still have access to today. It is our human right, but to live with this authority, we must have salvation. Why? Because it is through the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ we are reconciled to God and when we are reconciled we are also being restored to how God originally created us before sin entered us.

Eternal life is the grace to live like we're in heaven and establish heaven on earth. I know I’ve used this scripture a lot but we do not live like this enough for it not to be repeated. In the Lord’s example prayer in Matthew 6 verses 9 and 10, Jesus speaks and says “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”

First He acknowledges that God reigns and where He reigns, in heaven. God is supposed to reign in our lives, in our earth as well. Psalm 46:10 reads, “Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen (nation), I will be exalted in the earth.” God is supposed to be exalted where people live! If the angels in heaven are always praising God and declaring that He is Holy, shouldn't we as people do the same? If everything in heaven revolves around the Lord, shouldn't it be so on this earth? I get it some people are not Christians on this planet, but I want us to focus on ourselves, us who proclaim Christ, does your life reflect heaven? Do you live a life of sin or are you a righteous man who repents daily in order for heaven to manifest itself in your life? We need to pray daily to ask for God’s will to be done in our lives and nations. We need to depend on the power of God and the strength that the Lord Jesus gives (Philippians 4:13) to do all that we were created to do as beings of light.

The word hallowed here according to the Blue Letter Bible concordance, means to separate from profane things and dedicate to God, consecrate things to God, dedicate people to God, to purify, cleanse externally, to purify by expiation: free from the guilt of sin, to purify internally by renewing of the soul (which is our mind, will, and emotions). In other words, God is Holy and once we acknowledge God is Holy and choose eternal life, we too are now consecrated to God and being made even more Holy through the process of sanctification. This leads us to now ask for things that are Holy, desires in alignment with the Kingdom of heaven, and living in a way that can bring them forth, holiness empowered by eternal life through salvation. When we we know that we are under the Holy name of the Father, sin no longer has the right to linger in our lives as if it owns us, the Holiness in the God we belong to will bring a separation to keep us free, whole, and pure, just like we are going to be in heaven. The only difference between us saints and the saints in heaven is that we are not done being made Holy. We have to press in the presence of God so that we can press forth in His will. Eternal life is Holy, this is why eternal life can only come from God and no other. This is why Jesus died so that we can have it, He is the only one who was fit to be a mediator for us to receive it. When we have eternal life, we also have the covenant that makes us Holy as God is Holy (1 Peter 1:15-17).

To bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit, deny your flesh, and do the great works of Jesus Christ on earth, you must have eternal life. Eternal life is what all living things bow to (Philippians 2:10). In Romans 8 we are told in verse 22 “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” and before that in verses 18 and 19 tell us, ”For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” Creation whether they know it or not are waiting for the glory of God to manifest. Everything revolves around the Living one, the Eternal one. You need life to replace the dead things.

Eternal life comes from the living God, God is referred to as this because no death can be found in Him. He is the living God because He lives forever. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of the living God, which is why He can resurrect dead things back to life. We see this when a dead man fell on Elisha’s bones and came back to life. The power was not Elisha himself but the power of the God he was submitted to all His life. Now unfortunately I have to say this: this does mean you go and lay on a grave on a person you believe to be anointed with the power of God for power or anything else. This does not mean you start purchasing things for the power of God. If you to purchase something to experience the power of God then I recommend getting something called the Holy Bible, it has 67 books in it and is the best thing you can own in this life. In all seriousness please repent if you found yourself doing strange things like this, or following a person’s remedies for power, or making purchases, or sowing money in ministries to be blessed. You can not purchase eternal life nor can you purchase the Holy Spirit, both are gifts freely given by God. Trying to buy the power of God shows that you are more than likely in idolatry and this can cause you to receive bad judgment from God. Please repent, God is enough, His Son enough, His spirit is enough, and his word is enough, more than enough. You may not purchase things but your mind and heart are set on a minster more than it is God, or you go to that person’s teachings than you do to God and His word, then you must repent as well. Or even if you find comfort in a minister or another thing more than (I even have to check myself, Lord I repent).

Salvation in the Hebrew Concordance H3444, according to Blue Letter Bible, is the word yᵊšûʿâ which is pronounced yesh-oo'-aw and sounds like how we say Yeshua today, wow! This means salvation, deliverance, welfare, prosperity, deliverance, salvation (by God), and victory.

So every time we proclaim, declare, sing, or say the name Yeshua, we are also declaring our salvation and deliver. Every time we say the name of our Lord Jesus remember He is our salvation and deliver (Matthew 1:21).

Salvation in the Greek G4991 as stated in the Blue Letter Bible, is the word Sōtēria which means deliverance, preservation, safety, salvation, deliverance from molestation of enemies, in an ethical sense, that which concludes to the soul’s safety or salvation, salvation as the present

possession of all true Christians, future salvation the sum of benefits and blessings which the Christians, redeemed from all earthly ills, will enjoy after the visible return of Christ from heaven in the consummated and eternal kingdom of God.

Eternal Life

Eternal in Greek G166 according to the Blue Letter Bible means without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be (Like how God is the alpha and omega), never to cease, everlasting.

Life in Greek G2222, in reference to the Blue Letter Bible, means the state of one who is possessed of vitality or is animate, every living soul, of the absolute fullness of life both essential and ethical, which belongs to God, and through him both to the hypostatic “logos” and to Christ in whom the logos put on human nature. Life real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed, in the portion even in their trust in Christ, but after the resurrection to be consummated by new accessions (among them a more perfect body), and last forever.

Some signs of eternal life in a person:

Genesis 3:22, “And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree.”

John 15: 1- 11, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

Growth - A person never stops growing and learning unless they refuse to. We do not everything about God which means we do not know everything about what He created including this life, so we must remain teachable. That is how we grow and gain true wisdom.

Bearing good fruit- A good tree can only bear good fruit. We must make sure we are branches connected to the tree of life, the Lord Jesus Christ, He provides everything necessary for us to bear good fruit. When a person has the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ they start bearing fruit that reflects it, in character, how they use their Holy Spirit-given gifts, and even their intimacy with God.

Reproduction- Whatever believers will reproduce, we are not meant to just do good for ourselves, our lives impact generations! Even for parents, when they carry the salvation of the Lord and train their children in that way, they surely will not depart from it when they grow older but remain the course. When we carry revelation from God and share it, it can be a seed that sparks another believer and grows them in the Lord helping them produce good fruit as well. (John 15:2,3,5)

Resurrection - Just like Prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 37 and Jesus bringing Lazarus back to life, we have the ability by the power of God to command dead things to come alive, to be revived. This can be things that have been stagnant in our lives, things that have been dead in our bloodline, things even in the nation. For example, joy, Godly marriages, and lost souls.

Pruned and Purged- Self-righteousness and pride hinder us. We need to be pruned and purged of all the things that will hinder our walk with God and that will keep us stagnant with impure hearts. (John 15:2)

Longevity/ Eternal - Eternal life is not something that is temporary but everlasting. A person’s walk with the Lord is not supposed to be short lived neither is the fruit they bear. We are called to mirror heaven here on earth and store treasures in heaven while on earth, so t what we have built and proud does not rot away nor perish. (2 Samuel 7:29 NLT, Matthew 6:10 and 29).

Firm foundation deep roots- when a person has a firm foundation in the Lord their Life is built on the word of God, they are apart of an unshakable kingdom(Hebrews 12:28). Therefore even when a shaking happens, even though something shake our faith we will remain in the Lord and not depart from Him because we are rooted in Him.

Obedience- Jesus was asked a question on what should a person do to obtain eternal life, This was His response in Matthew 18 verses 19 and 20, “Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.” Another time in Luke 10 Jesus answered, “And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.”

Faith- Hebrews 11:6 tells us “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” We need to have faith to continue on this Christian walk of eternal life, not just for salvation but for life all around.

Also, If you would like to accept the love of God and His son, Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, or even if you have backslidden and want to return to the Lord, Here’s a prayer to guide you.

“ God almighty, I come before you to accept your love, to no longer reject you and what you have done for me. I choose to stop running from you and to finally stop rejecting myself of your love. Thank you for dying for me Lord Jesus, thank you for taking on my sins and shame. Thank you, Lord, that you became a curse for me so that I would no longer be bound by them but set free by your blood that was shed for me. Thank You for making yourself available to me, as a friend, father, Lord, God, helper, comforter, savior, and all the good things I need in my life. Jesus, I love you and ask you to help me keep loving you like how you want me to. I accept you completely as my Lord and savior, not what this world and demons have presented to me. Now I declare in the both spiritual and physical realms, that I no longer belong to Satan nor his Kingdom but according to Colossians 1:13, God has delivered me from the kingdom of darkness and has placed me in the Kingdom of light, where Jesus Christ is, I declare I belong to Jesus Christ and I now seat with Him In heavenly places. I rebuke all demonic retaliation in me making this decision and come into agreement with a sound mind in Jesus' name. I repent, renounce, denounce, and divorce myself from all the sins I’ve committed (list what you can remember) and break the evil covenants associated with them, and I declare once again I am a part of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, I pray and seal this prayer in His blood, Amen.”

Hallelujah! Congratulations if you made this decision. I pray that you prevail in your walk in the Lord, that forces of darkness continue to fail concerning you, and that the forces of light continue to persevere and propel you in the name of Jesus.
