Weapons of response pt. 1

WARSHIP the Lord.

Earlier this year the Lord told me many things concerning this new year, 2023. One of the things he told me is that worship will be our heaviest weapon this year. He is talking about His Children, the Body of Christ. He told me that in certain situations He will not be responding to prayer but instead to our worship, our praises, and exaltation to Him. Yes, worship is a lifestyle and not just worshiping through music, however, we are still called to sing praises to Him. Deliverance will at times come through this kind of worship. Exalting God, the Most High through songs glorifying who he is, praising him for what he has done, and worshiping him for what He will do.

Weapon (Greek)- missile, sprout, and shoot

Worship (greek) - to kiss the hand to (towards) one, in token of reverence among the Orientals, esp. the Persians, to fall upon the knees and touch the ground with the forehead as an expression of profound reverence.

  • In the NT by kneeling or prostration to do homage (to one) or make obeisance, whether to express respect or to make supplication.

  • Used of homage shown to men and beings of superior rank

  • to the Jewish high priests

  • to God

  • to Christ

  • to heavenly beings

  • to demons

Worship (Hebrew)- article, vessel, implement, utensil

  • article, object (general)

  • utensil, implement, apparatus, vessel

  • implement (of hunting or war)

  • implement (of music)

  • implement, tool (of labour)

  • equipment, yoke (of oxen)

  • utensils, furniture

  • vessel, receptacle (general)

  • vessels (boats) of paper-reed

These definitions are provided by The Blue Letter Bible concordance.

As I was in my hour of worship the Lord began revealing to me different weapons to different things. He has gifted the Body of Christ with different weapons to respond to different situations, feelings, and attacks. Below are a few He began to reveal to me.

Anxiousness, worry, concerns

Weapons - Prayer, faith, encouraging yourself in the Lord.

Philippians 4:6,7 NKJV

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Getting what you desire in both the physical and spiritual realm (according to the Lord’s will of course)

Example(s):

Spiritual desire- deliverance from spirit spouses, to start healing and casting out devils in the power of Jesus, deliverance from wanting self-glory; etc.

Physical desires- Getting into a specific university, getting a specific job, marriage to your God-given spouse (both spiritual and physical desires).

Weapon- Putting God and his kingdom first, radical obedience, having no idols. Seeking God not for what he can do but who he is.

Matthew 6:33 NKJV

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

To be obedient, overcome disobedience, walk successfully in Christ/ life, avoid backsliding, and get all the promises God has concerning you.

Weapon - Meditate, don't just read, but meditate and study God’s word both day and night.

If you're struggling with seeking the Lord in either the morning time or nighttime, set an hour aside specifically to do so.

Weapons- Meditating on the word of God, Obedience, and DISCIPLINE.

Joshua 1: 8 NLT

Study this book of instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Overcoming sexual sin

Weapons- Flee, pray for the strength and ability to flee. When you get perverted thoughts the way you flee is by casting them out, rebuking them in the name of Jesus, and replacing them by declaring the word of God. 1 Corinthians 6: 18 through 20 are some good verses.

18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

New me! Who’s this? Renewal of mind and behavior

Weapons- allowing God to transform the way we think, to think in alignment with his will.

Romans 12:2 NLT

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

How to be young and not reckless ( if you know, you know lol)

Weapon: Obeying God’s word

Psalm 119:9 NLT

‘’How can a young person stay pure?

By obeying your word.

While I was receiving this revelation the Lord told me three things that may seem random but are extremely important and relevant.

  1. Anytime we fight the kingdom of darkness, the devil, it’s supposed to always advance the kingdom of heaven. It’s never supposed to stop at just defeating the devil. It's to defeat the devil and to advance the kingdom of God and His will.

  2. Just because you're on fire for the Lord does not mean you have the discernment of the Lord, and that’s how you get a flame that might burn you. Having a lot of zeal with no wisdom to steward it well is dangerous.

  3. Your disobedience will cloud your judgment which will cloud your perception of obedience leading to more disobedience and spiritual blindness.

Side note: I originally wrote this on January 14 and now it’s February 14, I just thought that was interesting lol. God bless you all. Lord willing we will meet again, in the next post. I pray this blesses you all according to the will of God for your life in Jesus’ name.
