The woman with the golden oil

“The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.” Titus 2:3-5

I had the privilege to meet a 70-year-old woman who carried a different authority in the Lord that I had yet to encounter. It demanded the attention of all those around her without her even asking for it. This authority was the peace of the Lord in maturity, one that came through experience reflecting every gray hair on her head. The thing is though, I only heard her speak for no more than ten minutes and I realized she was the older woman that Titus 2 talks about. It was not necessarily the physical woman but the woman she carried that pulled us younger women to her, she allowed God to make her a gangster- a mature child of God. The kind that goes through the battle allowing God to direct her arrows and come out in victory obtaining the knowledge gained, to pass the arrows to the ones younger than her.

It’s like the Lord answered a prayer I hadn't prayed yet, “what does it look like to be the older woman in Titus 2? Who is this woman?”  I had been praying for the Lord to place some older women in my life who are like the Titus 2 seasoned woman he talked about. I know my calling and I know the Lord is in my life He has done so much with me in just the 5 five years of my being saved but I knew that there are certain things I can not do on my own forever, I know that there is safety in the multitude of counsel (wise counsel that is)  and that it would be good to have some “been there, done that” saints around me for a further push. I also know that it is pride that if I think I can go and reach where God wants me to be in this life by myself, I have to guard my heart and discipline myself in humility. The reason this is important for me is because: you may have the gift of wisdom does not mean you have the knowledge to use it correctly all the time, some things come from the wisdom of someone who has already been where you are at and can bring you into a deeper level in who God has called you to be in Him. The older woman is not necessarily wise because of her age, she is wise because of all the knowledge she obtained as she got older. Unfortunately, many older people still have not “grown up” so what they pass on to the next generation stifles their growth more than it can help them. But Glory be to God who thinks about future generations and preserves a remnant. These women still exist and God is still raising women up to be the Titus 2 women.

The peace that was present when I encountered this woman, showed that God can trust her with the golden oil. He had known this woman not only for some seasons but also for some decades. The Titus 2 woman is the woman with the golden oil I am talking about. She is the one who has permission to teach because she has humbled herself enough to learn and apply. She is a great and effective teacher because she is an obedient and attentive student of the Lord Jesus Christ. Since she has followed the Lord and that is the only thing her feet know how to do, the presence of the Lord is with her wherever she goes. She carries the presence that helps a woman struggling in her marriage gain the wisdom of surrendering it to God to do the impossible, the same presence that can love a criminal into repentance bringing them into the arms of the Lord, and the same presence that can make a young self-righteous woman go silent and realize she doesn't have it all together and needs guidance to help her gain the golden oil herself.

What are the signs of this golden oil you ask? The oil is pressed by the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, a woman who has years of maturity in the Lord, boldness (they don’t get time to play, especially with the devil), patience, all the fruits of the spirit, the fear of God, she trusts in the Lord with all of her heart no matter what (she has believed who God has revealed himself to be). She is a mother, able to raise daughters and sons of the Lord, sparking a revival for bloodlines to come that will have their descendants praising the Lord as well. Shoot, I might as well throw in gray hairs and a cane too! Lol

She is the Proverbs 31 woman. The favor in her life doesn’t just say God is pleased with her but that He also trusts her enough to carry His presence to the point all people, no matter who they are, saved and unsaved can encounter it. The Titus 2 woman is the Proverbs 31 woman, and I pray that we all no matter how young or seasoned we may be in age, become both. The Proverbs 31 woman is the Titus 2 woman, and the Titus 2 woman can not be herself without already being the Proverbs 31.

“Who can find a virtuous wife?

For her worth is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband safely trusts her;

So he will have no lack of gain.

She does him good and not evil

All the days of her life.

She seeks wool and flax,

And willingly works with her hands.

She is like the merchant ships,

She brings her food from afar.

She also rises while it is yet night,

And provides food for her household,

And a portion for her maidservants.

She considers a field and buys it;

From her profits she plants a vineyard.

She girds herself with strength,

And strengthens her arms.

She perceives that her merchandise is good,

And her lamp does not go out at night.

She stretches out her hands to the distaff,

And her hand holds the spindle.

She extends her hand to the poor,

Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of snow for her household,

For all her household is clothed with scarlet.

She makes tapestry for herself;

Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates,

When he sits among the elders of the land.

She makes linen garments and sells them,

And supplies sashes for the merchants.

Strength and honor are her clothing;

She shall rejoice in time to come.

She opens her mouth with wisdom,

And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

She watches over the ways of her household,

And does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children rise up and call her blessed;

Her husband also, and he praises her:

“Many daughters have done well,

But you excel them all.”

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,

But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

Give her of the fruit of her hands,

And let her own works praise her in the gates.”

- Proverbs 31:10-31 NKJV

Wow and to think I was going to wrap things up, thank you God for more revelation! The Titus 2 women/ the Proverbs 31 woman goes beyond herself, everyone is impacted by her existence in a good way, from her children, her husband, who her husband associates with, her community, and those she works with. She is always equipped, and because she is skilled enough she can equip other women, the poor and needy are not optional for her to take care of, they are a priority. And most important she does not neglect herself, she does not cover others without covering herself, and she is not insecure because she handles herself and can content herself. She does not pour from an empty cup and because of that she has the strength of the Lord, which means she has both the praise and joy of the Lord (Jeremiah and Nehemiah 8:10). She has the golden oil, not because of what she does outwardly but who her heart has been transformed by to cause her to bear the outward fruit. There is authority behind her fruit. There is the power of God behind her fruit. A “God bless you” sounds different from her because she fears and loves the God she is talking about.

My prayer is that it may be so with us. It was a privilege to write this because I needed to learn this. Many times what I release in my blog post are things that I have learned or am currently learning. Do not dismiss yourself if you feel like you are not the Proverbs 31 or Titus 2 women. The becoming of these women is being these women, growth happens at every step. The Proverbs 31 women you are today, may not have been at the same level you were two years ago, the important thing is you are in alignment with God and allowing him to bring the increase when He wants. A message I have for you and even for myself: Have grace for yourself where God gives you grace and trust in the Lord…. With all your heart lean not on your understanding.

God bless you and thank you for reading 💗

Also, If you would like to accept the love of God and His son, Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, or even if you have backslidden and want to return to the Lord, Here’s a prayer to guide you.

“ God almighty, I come before you to accept your love, to no longer reject you and what you have done for me. I choose to stop running from you and to finally stop rejecting myself of your love. Thank you for dying for me Lord Jesus, thank you for taking on my sins and shame. Thank you Lord that you became a curse for me so that I would no longer be bound by them but set free by your blood that was shed for me. Thank You for making yourself available to me, as friend, father, Lord, God, helper, comforter, savior, and all the good things I need in my life. Jesus I love you and ask you to help me keep loving you like how you want me to. I accept you completely as my Lord and savior, not what this world and demons have presented to me. Now I declare in the both spiritual and physical realm, that I not longer belong to Satan nor his Kingdom but according to Colossians 1:13, God has delivered me from the kingdom of darkness and has placed me in the Kingdom of light, where Jesus Christ is, I declare I belong to Jesus Christ and I now seat with Him In heavenly places. I rebuke all demonic retaliation in me making this decision and come into agreement with a sound mind in Jesus name. I repent, renounce, denounce, and divorce myself from all the sins I’ve committed (list what you can remember) and break the evil covenants associated with them, and I declare once again I am a part of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. In Jesus name I pray and seal this prayer in His blood, Amen.”

Hallelujah! Congratulations if you made this decision. I pray that you prevail in your walk in the Lord, that forces of darkness continue to fail concerning you, and that the forces of light continue to persevere and propel you in the name of Jesus.

And if you have not yet, get you a Bible. Please, it’s a lot of ghetto foolishness concerning Christianity and religion. The Bible is the only way to protect you from it and will show you how to be a Christian and have a real relationship with Jesus Christ.
